![]() What is a crown? A crown is a restoration that covers, or “caps” a tooth to restore it to its normal shape and size. It also strengthens and improves the appearance of a tooth. Crowns are used to correct many problems such as teeth that are broken or cracked and teeth that can’t support a large filling when there isn’t enough tooth remaining. They can also be used to protect week teeth from fracturing, protect a tooth that has a root canal, and cover badly shaped or discolored teeth. Back to Frequently Asked Questions
