![]() What if I have tetracycline stained teeth? For years we have known that tetracycline (TCN) stained teeth were all but impossible to whiten. About the only thing that would touch these stains would be daily whitening with trays for as much as a year or longer. And even the results were very unpredictable. The problem is that TNC stains are imbedded deeply within the tooth. Whitening results can vary widely due to many factors relating to the history of when and how the TCN was taken. We now have a whitening system called the KOR Deep Bleaching System which is formulated for hard to whiten teeth. The system is the best answer dentistry has to address this type of staining. Results on some TCN stained patients have been quite remarkable. Patients who have previously thought their only hope to a prettier smile was through porcelain veneers, now have another alternative to try (with the KOR). Results can vary, still, with the KOR system, but at least it is a more conservative, cost-effective option to consider. If at the end of KOR Deep Bleaching therapy you are not where you want to be with your smile, the option of veneers is still viable; and the whitening you have done can make it easier to block out the stain when you do the veneers.
