![]() TMJ Splint Therapy Some patients come to us experiencing popping or clicking of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). This is sometimes combined with pain in the jaw, limited opening, and muscle spasms. Often the patient has a history of muscle-tension headaches. Usually these symptoms are directly related to problems with the bite, coupled with teeth grinding and clenching. We help many patients become pain free with the use of a simple acrylic splint that goes in-between the teeth, taking out all the natural tooth interferences, thus allowing the muscles to relax.
