
Dr. Bob Burnett blends caring compassion with a gentle technique to make every patient’s visit as pleasant as possible. Utilizing the latest state-of-the-art technology in a wide array of new applications, Dr. Burnett is able to offer all the standard dental procedures plus exciting new approaches to cosmetic and implant dentistry that make it possible to have the kind of smile you’ve always dreamed of.
As a graduate of Abilene Christian University and the University of Texas Dental Branch- Houston, Dr. Burnett has been practicing dentistry in Tyler since 1983. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and has also been awarded Fellowship status with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Burnett also has memberships with the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Smith County Dental Society (past president 1996). Additionally, he has accumulated over 200 hours of education in restorative dentistry at one of the world’s premier post-graduate dental training facilities, The Pankey Institute. Dr. Burnett is also a graduate of the Continuum of Contemporary Esthetic Diagnosis and Treatment at Baylor College of Dentistry where he received extensive training in cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Burnett has also furthered his education by accumulating over 200 hours of classroom and hands on training in dental implant placement and restoration. His implant training has taken him to The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he received his certification from taking the Preceptorship in Oral Implantology. Other implant-related courses have taken Dr. Burnett to California, New Orleans, and Dallas. After 2 years of training in implant surgery Dr. Burnett is now placing dental implants on his own patients.
In the fall of 2010 Dr. Burnett was honored by receiving the Texas Super Dentists Award, being chosen by his peers in dentistry. The Super Dentists award is conducted through and published by Texas Monthly Magazine. Dr. Burnett was also chosen “Best Dentist” by BScene Magazine, published in East Texas.
On a personal note, Dr. Burnett and his wife, Katie, have two children, Travis and Callie. They attend Glenwood Church of Christ and enjoy family-centered activities that keep them connected with their children. |
Mary started her career in dentistry after attending dental assisting school in Dallas in 1979. She chose the right profession because she still loves taking care of patients and seeing their smiles everyday! As a Registered Dental Assistant, she has been a lecturer to other dental professionals on dental materials and working with teams to help them achieve excellence in patient care. As Patient Care Coordinator, Mary loves helping our patients understand all aspects of their treatment and then helps them find the best way to implement the plan. She feels their joy when treatment is complete and smiles are healthy and beautiful!
She and her husband, Mike, moved to the Tyler area from Dallas several years ago. They celebrated their 30th anniversary in May of 2010, and share their home with a 52 pound “lap dog”, Barney the Bassett. |
Krista has been in the dental field since 1992 as a registered dental assistant. She is very gentle and caring with our patients and has said many times that she is proud to be part of a team that puts their patients first. Krista has lived in Tyler most of her life. She is married to husband, Kenny, and has two sons and one grandson, all of whom they are very proud. Krista is a member of Shiloh Road Church of Christ and enjoys spending time with her active family and her friends. |
Melisa has been a dental hygienist since 1984 so it’s no surprise that virtually nothing escapes her notice when it comes time to cleaning teeth or helping patients learn good oral health habits. Melisa graduated from Tyler Junior College’s Dental Hygiene program and has been working with Dr. Burnett since 1987. Melisa has a son and daughter and one grandson who gives her great joy and lots of funny stories! Melisa also enjoys bike riding, exercising, traveling, and spending time with friends. She attends Colonial Hills Baptist Church. |
Laura completed the dental assisting program at Tyler Junior College in 2007. She is a Registered Dental Assistant, and works chairside with Dr. Burnett. Laura has become a valuable member of our team. With her sweet personality, she has the gift of making friends with our patients quickly, putting them at ease in the dental chair. She is also had extensive training and experience in cad-cam dentistry, making many of our patient’s porcelain restorations in our office. Laura has grown up in the Tyler area and is a member of Faith Baptist Church in Chandler. |
